Hello, and thank you for visiting my website. I’m Peter Phelps, and I help people to change their lives. I hope that doesn’t sound pompous – it’s not meant to – I just love being a part of that journey. Sometimes it can be very challenging or emotional, but it’s worth it for all the happy outcomes.
No two people are the same, or have exactly the same problems, but I have a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge that enable me to get to the root of a problem. So whatever emotional, psychological or relationship issues you need help with, just call or text me on 07855 352947, or email me by clicking on this link.
Since 2001 I have also developed very effective strategies to deal with addictions. You can find out more about this by following the links to my stop smoking, alcohol, cocaine and gambling addiction pages on the left. If your addiction isn’t listed, I can almost certainly still help you as the principles for all addictions are very similar, and help is just a call, text or email away.
About Peter Phelps
Now let me tell you a bit more about myself. I was born in Forest Gate, and have lived and worked in East London for most of my life. Since leaving school I have worked in a wide range of jobs; everything from building work to banking. My main careers were in the Civil Service, the Police and Newham Youth Offending Team, working with young offenders and victims of crime.
In the late 1990s my wife, Donna, went into therapy following close family bereavements. The change in our lives was amazing, and led to us both deciding to train as therapists. In 2001 I completed a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and opened my first practice in Burges Road, East Ham.
These days I live in Hornchurch with Donna, our daughter, Katie, and our young son, Morgan. I now have practices in the City of London, Stratford, South Woodford, Romford and Barkingside. I have continued my hypnotherapy and counselling training to advanced level, gained a first class honours degree in psychology, and trained in a wide range of therapeutic approaches.
My qualifications and memberships include;
BSc (Hons) – First class Honours degree in psychology from UEL
Adv.Dip.SACH.Hyp – Advanced Diploma in Cognitive and Analytical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy awarded by SACH (The School of Analytical and Cognitive Hypnotherapy)
CNHC – Registered member of the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council – the UK regulator for complimentary healthcare practitioners.
SQHP – Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice, awarded by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC)
UKCHO – Registered member of the UK Council of Hypnotherapy Organisations
GHR Reg. – Member of the General Hypnotherapy Register
UKHR – Member of the UK Hypnotherapy Register
MHIA – Full member of the International Hypnotherapy Association
I am also a certified practitioner of Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Non-Violent Communication (NVC) .
The most important thing, however, is the rapport between client and therapist, built on understanding and trust. My promise to my clients is :-
- To listen
- Not to judge
- To respect everyone as individual human beings, regardless of race, faith or beliefs
- respect privacy and confidentiality
- be honest
- and do the best I can.
Once again thanks for visiting my site, best wishes,
